We are proud of our awards and accolades, and continually strive to provide an extraordinary vacation experience for our guests. Our luxury boutique hotel was completely renovated in 2016-2019, and is the only Relais & Chateaux property on Cape Cod, and one of only 323 Five-Star hotels in the world. Our world-class fine dining restaurant, headed by renowned Executive Chef Isaac Olivo, has been named the #1 restaurant on the Cape and Islands, and one of the top fine dining restaurants in the United States.
“While there’s no shortage of top-tier cuisine to be found all throughout Cape Cod, Chatham offers a particularly enticing array of restaurants concentrated in one small community—and the opulent Chatham Inn is home to one of the town’s finest destinations for seasoned gourmands.”
“Take an autumn trip to Chatham, Massachusetts, at the southeastern tip of Cape Cod, and experience an array of special fall happenings on the enchanting New England coast.”
“While you may think of Cape Cod as a summer destination (and you’re definitely not wrong), it’s also a stunning spot to visit in the fall. As leaves change to russet reds and vibrant oranges, you can take in the cooler weather, go whale watching, or visit local cranberry bogs.”
“Manhattanites wanting to decamp to the beach should consider road-tripping to the Cape Cod town of Chatham. Chic, nautical, and charming are the names of the game here. When in this New England coastal enclave, book a stay at Relais & Chateaux’s Chatham Inn.”
“Have you ever had a hospitality experience that was so good – so beyond the best – that it brought tears to your eyes?
That’s what recently happened to a new bride and her husband, who honeymooned at the Forbes 5-Star Chatham Inn, on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. The couple finished dinner in the acclaimed Cuvee restaurant – at which point the staff presented them with custom-made cappuccinos – with one of their internet wedding photos prominently displayed in the foam.”
Chatham Inn has earned its place among the best resorts in the continental U.S., achieving the number 12 spot on the list.
“When the Chatham Inn received its five-star rating from Forbes Magazine in April, there was a bit of confusion, even among the New Englanders who descend upon Cape Cod each summer.
Isn’t it called Chatham Bars Inn?
The confusion was understandable. Chatham Bars Inn has been around since 1914 and has more than 200 rooms. The Chatham Inn arrived in 2015 and has just 18 rooms. Now the difference between the two is more than the word “Bars.” For those keeping count, the Chatham Inn has five stars, Chatham Bars has four.”
“The Chatham Inn is set in the one-time Travelers Home for Retired Sailors and dates to around 1830. However, and it’s a big however, the interior is now re-imagined into a luxurious boutique inn with a sleek modern design; exceptionally comfy beds; knowledgeable, helpful staff; and top-notch dining.”
We are proud to share that Chatham Inn has earned the #12 spot in the 15 Best Resorts in the Continental U.S. category for Travel + Leisure’s 2022 World’s Best Awards!
“Check out Chatham Lighthouse Beach, which offers a tranquil shoreline with daily sandbars, kite sailors, incredible seal watching, and its best-kept secret: a beautiful sunrise view. Spend the night at Chatham Inn, Relais & Châteaux—a hidden gem of the coast offering 18-rooms meant for an adults-only getaway in the heart of the Cape and just steps away from the waves.”
Chatham Inn is proud to have earned the 2022 Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Award as the #4 -Most Romantic Hotel in the US.
“An 18-room, adults-only hotel located in the heart of Chatham. A hyper-intimate and luxury coastal property that feels like your own coastal home. The crown jewels of the property– Cuvee, a fine-dining restaurant where local coastal ingredients are the star of the show.”
“With many planning to travel again, Forbes released a list of “2022 Star Awards” recipients, ranking hotels, restaurants and spas around the world, and showcasing a grand total of 323 five-star hotels, 102 five-star spas and 74 five-star restaurants.”
“Built in 1830, this charming boutique hotel may be the oldest inn on the Cape, but it feels modern. Its 18 rooms and suites exude tranquility with cream and ivory tones, fireplaces (in half of the accommodations) and marble and onyx bathrooms with Bulgari products. Every stay includes a gourmet breakfast — choose from seasonal dishes like crab cake Benedict or cranberry nut French toast.”
Chatham Inn is proud to have earned the prestigious Forbes Five-Star Award. The inn is one of only 323 Forbes Five-Star hotels in the world, and the only Forbes Five-Star hotel on Cape Cod.
“Built in 1830 by an English couple who bought the property shortly after arriving on Massachusetts’s most eastern point, Chatham Inn is the oldest continuously operating inn on Cape Cod. For the next century or so, the inn changed hands (and names) four times, but it wasn’t until 1936 when the charming outpost adjusted to the times in a big way: Carl and Doris Chandler, who owned the inn for nearly two decades, built the first in-house restaurant, which still stands today.”
“With its sun-drenched beaches and idyllic villages, Cape Cod is the quintessential New England summer destination. Located at the heart of quaint Chatham, Chatham Inn is the oldest operating inn on Cape Cod, having opened its doors in 1890. It is also the only Relais & Châteaux property in the area.”
“Long walks on the beach, beautiful waterfront lodgings – romance is in the (chilly) air right now. The 18-guest room Chatham Inn is the definition of cozy chic. Located near Lighthouse Beach and close to downtown, this Relais & Chateaux property offers rooms with all the trimmings: wood-burning fireplaces, two-person soaking tubs, Matouk bed linens, Frette towels, and Malin + Goetz bath products.”
“If you are looking for an ultra-luxurious respite paired with an exceptional dining experience, head to Chatham Inn, Relais & Châteaux, during Cape Cod’s off-season. Situated on Main Street, Chatham Inn is the oldest continuously operating inn on Cape Cod.”
“With its protected white-sand beaches, dramatic dunes, and family-friendly towns, Cape Cod has something for everyone. Certain parts of the Cape feel rugged and remote, while other pockets are more populated and lively, but they’re all scenic.”
“For a quintessential Cape Cod escape, look no further than Chatham Inn, a polished yet breezy Relais & Châteaux property that blends character and luxurious amenities like wood-burning fireplaces and soaking tubs big enough for two.”
“This is where couples go to indulge in being, well, a couple. Indulge is the right word, indeed. The Chatham Inn delivers excellence in service, furnishings and food, making a stay effortless and cosseting, leaving you to explore this unspoiled town situated on Cape Cod’s elbow.”
“Located in the center of quaint downtown Chatham, the inn is a solid choice year-round. But in the quieter winter season, it’s absolutely magical.”
“This Relais & Châteaux property on Cape Cod is a beachside haven. Nine of the 18 rooms here offer personal fireplaces, including one suite, two premier fireplace category rooms and six standard fireplace rooms (there’s even one with a double-sided fireplace that opens to a soaking tub for optimal R&R). The rooms follow a stunning contemporary format, with clean, minimal lines that encourage you to declutter your mind on a weekend away.”
“Located in Chatham, Cape Cod, the 18-room property is the only Relais & Châteaux in the Cape and is a true hidden gem. And the big night of the year is New Years Eve, or “First Night Chatham.” A village-wide, all day event.”
“Check out Chatham, where the blue Atlantic seas mix with the gold sands and the leaves turning a bold mixture of orange, yellow, and red. Spend the night at the Chatham Inn, Relais & Châteaux, a historic and charming inn that has recently undergone an extensive luxurious renovation.”
“It may be one of the oldest inns on Cape Cod, but Relais & Châteaux’s quaint 18-room Chatham Inn boasts all of the contemporary luxuries (think including design-forward marble and onyx bathrooms) that any high-speed city-dweller can appreciate.”
The Chatham Inn is not only the best kept secret on Cape Cod, but also the region’s only Relais & Châteaux property. Offering fine dining, luxurious accommodations and world class service, this is the place to book this summer.
“This luxe 18-room inn capped off a major renovation in 2019 with a brand-new accolade: Cape Cod’s only Relais & Châteaux property. Pampering here includes Matouk bed linens, Frette towels, Malin+Goetz bath products, and a “Chef’s Grand Breakfast,” served fireside in the dining room.”
“Lodged in the elbow of Cape Cod, Chatham is one of Cape Cod’s most charming towns and the Chatham Inn is the Cape’s only member of the foodie focused Relais & Chateaux group. The Chatham Inn’s New Year’s Eve package includes a welcome champagne toast, two nights in a premier room or suite (some have wood burning fireplaces and/or balconies), a fireside New Year’s Eve dinner for two in the hotel’s restaurant, Cuvée, and breakfast each morning.”
“Year after year it ranks among the best hotels in the North East and repeatedly in America’s top 20 most romantic. This is down to the staff’s warmth, the wide-plank wood floor rooms with crisp white Matouk lines, two-person tubs and roaring fires – and renowned chef Issac Olivo heading up what has now become Cape Cod’s most celebrated fine dining restaurants, The Cuvee at Chatham Inn.”
The Inn, a gracious, federal-style building dating from 1830, has the distinction of being the Cape’s oldest. Entirely renovated, the 18-room property seamlessly blends an aura of history—ever-present in a village with one of the largest concentrations of historic houses in the country—with contemporary style and ease. Wide-plank floors and cozy fireplaces are paired with Matouk linens and Frette towels, and modern touches, like rain showers, are carefully integrated without compromising the historic integrity of the architecture.
